Union Chinese, leveraging years of experience in liquor marketing and promotion, created its sorghum liquor brand, “Tunnel 88.” Since its launch in Taiwan on August 8, 1999, the brand has been on the market for 24 years. Despite being relatively young in the sorghum liquor market, Tunnel 88 has already become a well-known and high-quality brand across both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
The brand appeal of Tunnel 88 sorghum liquor lies not only in its careful selection of sorghum and wheat and meticulous brewing process but also in its insistence on using only the highest quality sorghum base liquor obtained after distillation. It is specially aged in an environment with optimal temperature and humidity, allowing natural maturation over time. The fully matured aged base liquors of different years and characteristics are crafted into unique formulas by the head brewmaster, tailored to the distinct features and positioning of each product series. The “Matsu Light Fragrance” sorghum liquor, aged under the unique climatic conditions of the Matsu outer islands and stored in appropriately humid and warm tunnels, offers a robust yet smooth taste.
The “Taiwan Light Fragrance” sorghum liquor is brewed using solid-state fermentation with pure grains and long-term low-temperature fermentation, then aged in the ideal natural surroundings of Yunlin, resulting in a liquor that is rich in aroma, full-bodied, and mellow.
The Tunnel 88 series by Union Chinese features a range of products with distinct levels, packaging, and label colors, all maintaining clear brand identification and a cohesive design aesthetic.
