Jinro (Korean: 하이트진로)

Jinro (Korean: 하이트진로) is a Korean soju brand, holding a market share of over 50% in the Korean soju market and being the most popular soju brand in Korea. Jinro is currently sold in over 100 countries worldwide.
According to the statistics from the alcoholic beverage magazine ‘’Drinks International ‘’, Jinro consistently leads global sales in distilled spirits, making it the best-selling distilled spirit in the world.

Jinro is a low-proof liquor made from rice, typically supplemented with ingredients such as wheat, barley, or sweet potatoes. The alcohol content generally hovers around 20 degrees. The origin of Jinro soju can be traced back to the ‘’Shaojiu’’of the Yuan Dynasty in China.Shaojiu, generally believed to have been introduced to the Korean Peninsula in the late Goryeo period of the 13th century, refers to distilled liquor, with ‘’Jiu’’ originally meaning liquor produced by three distillations, akin to the process of gathering dew, hence also known as ‘Luzhou”.
